Incorporated as a borough on April 26, 1897, Allenhurst is located in Monmouth County , New Jersey. It was ranked 131 in Forbes Magazine's list of the most expensive ZIP codes in the United States . Allenhurst is nestled amidst a string of wealthy summer communities between Long Branch and Asbury Park, just north of Loch Arbour and just south of Deal.
Within close proximity to New York City, Allenhurst sits along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. Many of the large Victorian and Tudory-style homes that line its streets are meticulously maintained to preserve their unique character. Transaction prices in the community have increased dramatically since 2000, as more families have discovered the peaceful seaside town.
Education
Allenhurst is a non-operating district and does not have any public schools of its own. Public school students from the Borough of Allenhurst attend the Asbury Park Public Schools in Asbury Park as part of a sending/receiving relationship.
Community
The Allenhurst Beach Club, a 2,000 member recreational facility, has attracted residents and visitors during the summer months for generations. It features a 525,000 gallon salt water swimming pool, children’s wading pool, cabanas and bathhouses. Membership is open to the public.
